About Joseph

josephI’m a Program Manager working in Microsoft Office. My product, Publisher, helps users create, personalize, and share a wide range of publications.

My past research involves pen-based Chinese text input and using language model for text prediction and input disambiguation. I am an alumnus of the University of Washington Design & User-centered Brainstorming (DUB) Center.

I have a great appreciation to music. Besides spending lots of hours listening to music, I try to produce sounds that are intriguing yet meaningful. Not a virtuoso, but I can play piano, violin, guitar, and a little ukulele.

I also enjoy the great outdoors. In my spare time, I like to go hiking, SCUBA diving, kayaking, snowboarding, and sailing. I’m an advocate for cycling. It is the best transportation mode that’s great for the environment and personal health. I spend a lot of time on my saddle, approximately 2000 miles a year.
